Delhi Public School

Nestled at the foothills, amidst lush greenery and tranquil surroundings, DPS, Dharan is one of the premier educational institutions in Nepal. Built under the aegis of Delhi Public School Society, it is one of the 190+DPS schools in India and abroad. The school is located within B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Sunsari District which lies in the eastern part of Nepal. DPS can boast of plethora of academic and non -academic activities it has been offering since the past 18 years, bringing a blend of cultural and traditional values.


This picturesque town of Dharan stands at an altitude of 305 - 700 meter. Dharan is easily connected to Kathmandu by air and roads; To India via train via Jogbani and New Jalpaiguri (NJP, Siliguri) and via air via Bagdogra. The nearest airport is in Biratnagar ( about 40Kms away from Dharan).

Climatic Condition

Surrounded by hills on three sides, Charkose jhadi (Forest) at the south, flanked by two rivers to the east and west which is Seuti river and Shardhu river respectively, Dharan has a temperate climate. Maximum temperature in Dharan usually reaches 36 degrees centigrade in the month of April. The temperature dips to 10 degree Celsius in January. Dharan’s climatic condition is extremely pleasant and favorable for students .

The school is the result of an agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of India which took the shape of an institution in the year 1996.It is under the aegis Of Delhi Public School Society .The DPS Society is a non-profit, non-proprietary, private, educational organization .This global network of over 190 English medium, co-educational, secular schools provides education from pre-nursery/nursery to Class XII.
